The Challenge

Organizing an official European Climbing Cup in a natural setting like Liébana was a unique challenge.

An official competition had never before been held in a location like Picos de Europa National Park.

It was essential to meet IFSC international standards, integrate the competition into the landscape without losing its essence, and ensure a safe and engaging experience for athletes and audiences.

It wasn’t just about competing.

It was about showing that elite climbing can coexist with its environment and become a driver of visibility for the region.

The Solution

At B3, we designed and produced a European event tailored to the surroundings, integrating it with the landscape, local customs, and community, making them part of the spectacle.
We built IFSC-approved Speed and Bouldering structures integrated into Liébana’s landscape, coordinating the competition with IFSC Europe, federations, and local authorities.

The Result: A European Cup that combined elite sport, nature, and audience experience, positioning Liébana on the European climbing circuit.
